Tyres

Front tyres are narrow ( 4.5") and are inflated to a high pressure (30psi) to lower the rolling resistance of the car.

Rear tyres are the same size as those fitted to funny cars (Goodyear 1490 pattern) they are usually maounted on 16" diameter rims that are 15" wide and are infated to between 4.5 and 6 psi to aid traction. These tyres grow up to 6" in diameter at 200 mph due to centrifugal force.
